The Valley's jewelry shops all closed down today to protest against the killing of Jujukaji Bajracharya, a jeweler from Pulchowk, Lalitpur who was found murdered on Friday night.
General Secretary of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (NEGOSIDA), Manik Ratna Shakya informed the media that all the gold and silver shops in the Valley will remain closed today to put pressure on the government to ensure the security of the gold and silver traders.
The Nepal Bullion Dealers Association officials met with the Home Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar and demanded necessary security for the traders and to provide compensation for the family of Bajracharya.
Bajracharya was found dead with his hands and feet tied in early Saturday morning after he failed to show up at the local tea stall for his early breakfast. It had been his daily ritual for many years.
Police have confirmed the arrests of two suspects but is working on further investigation and trying to find the main culprits behind the murder.
